Our heart's desire

There are many different ways that we can spend time with God. Instead of compartmentalizing our relationship with Him, He gets pleasure when all of our life is lived as a praise to Him. Whether it's singing songs of praise, showing up to work on time out of gratefulness for a job, or enjoying time with loved ones; we should do it with a cheerful heart. It's not a bad idea to seek out new and enjoyable ways to spend time with God. There are so many books, devotionals, journals, music, and other tools that can help us out with this. As we enjoy God and life, He will place within our heart the desires that He wants us to have. Over time, our hearts will become more like His, our appetites will line up with His will, and our lives will reap the benefits. Today I encourage us to be intentional about taking time out for God as well as living a life that includes and is centered around Him.

Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
