Who we are on the inside is just as important as the who we are on the outside. I would say it is even more important because what’s on the inside eventually works its way out. Have you ever thought something about something or someone that was not so good and whether you meant to or not, you actually said it? Well, I’ll be honest and say that I have. This proves to us that out of the heart the mouth speaks. Our words are a direct reflection of what’s in our hearts and on our minds. We should care more about our inner man because that is the core of who we really are. We can’t authentically be someone on the outside that we are not on the inside. Since we are to be reflections of God but have a human nature, our daily prayer should be for His Spirit to transform us internally along with influencing our words and actions. God is pleased when we do this because our thoughts flavor what we say and our words determine our reality. He has a great life planned for us and wants who we are to line up with this. More importantly, God wants others to experience Him through us. Today I encourage us all to dwell on good things, speak positively, and experience the life that God intends for us to have.
Psalm 19:14 (NLT)
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
