A Work in Progress

We are God’s masterpieces in the making. When we accept Christ into our hearts, a process begins within us. As we yield to it, we are changed to become more like Christ. Since life is a process of maturing and growing, we do not have to get frustrated with ourselves for making mistakes. However, when we experience setbacks we can remind ourselves that we are God's work in progress. With the right perspective, setbacks can become learning opportunities to help us make better decisions and become better people. His continual work in us lets us know that He is patient and won't give up on us. If God is committed to being patient with us, we should also be patient with ourselves. God will keep on working in us, making us into who He intends us to be until Christ returns. Therefore, we should never get arrogant and think that we have arrived at any point in life. It's been said and I agree that life is a journey and not a destination. Today I encourage us to be committed to growth and progress with confidence that we are great masterpieces in the making.

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.
